'RETURN TO EARTH' RUNWAY AT AFW 2025.
Debuting a new era of nagnata at AFC AUSTRALIAN FASHION WEEK 2025 with end-of-cycle in mind.
‘Return To Earth’ was the title of this year’s presentation and the guiding principle of a new defining category, evolving the Nagnata uniform in its purest essence. Introducing Nagnata R2E Denim designed with end-of-life cycle in mind.
Opening with a short film featuring muse Jessica Gomes, the show blended aspiration with education. The show reimagined the role of fashion with pieces designed to harmonise with the Earth, completing your wardrobe with integrity and purpose.
The presentation drew on the Earth’s natural frequency in G major, with an original score by Gary Sinclair that loops through circular patterns, echoing the rhythm of nature. A reflective runway set by Felix Jerome Grech created a portal into the Nagnata world, where sculptural silhouettes, seamless knitwear and R2E denim converge.
Rooted in responsibility and designed for longevity, Nagnata R2E was created not just to be worn, but to be lived in—and eventually, 'Return To Earth' after decades of wear.
Before a model even stepped onto the runway, the audience was immersed in a short film starring Jess Gomes, Nagnata muse and long-time friend of May, wading barefoot through the mud, slicing the waistband off a pair of jeans. “You see her physically connected to the ground. Even something as small as a metal rivet shouldn’t be overlooked if we’re serious about compostability,” May explains. “It’s a symbolic gesture, but also educational.” - RUSSH MAGAZINE
