The Senior Fashion Designer for Nagnata will be responsible for creating and developing new designs for the brand. They will work closely with the Creative Director, Art Director and other members of the design team to ensure that all designs meet the company's high standards of quality, creativity, innovation and marketability. The Senior Fashion Designer will also be responsible for the following:

Job Responsibility including but not limited to:

• Researching and analysing fashion trends and consumer preferences to develop new design concepts that meet customer needs and expectations. 
• Proactively conduct market research to identify new inspiration, textile, knitwear and techniques to present new design ideas in concept, silhouette, fabrics, trims. 
• Research industry sustainability & environmental innovations to drive Nagnata’s innovative approach to textile development and design in-line with the brands sustainability requirements. 
• Create detailed sketches and technical drawings of designs, including measurements where possible, materials, and construction details. 
• Translate concepts from Creative Director/Head Designer into workable directions for the team, such as concept boards, CADs, knitdowns, strike offs etc. 
• Taking feedback from Creative Director/Head Designer and pro-actively design and develop options and solutions.
• Work alongside the Art Director to develop yardage, jacquard, intarsia, and printed artworks.
• Manage the design process from creative conception, sourcing, fits, through to final styling on every sample throughout the process.
• Selecting and sourcing of yarns, fabrics, trims, and other materials necessary for creating each design. 
• Working alongside the Product Manager to oversee the design, development & production process from start to finish, ensuring that designs are executed correctly and meet the company's standards for quality and craftsmanship, and align with the company's overall vision and aesthetic. 
• Manage the range overview per collection, always ensuring it’s up to date.
• Responsible and accountable for processing all non-spec related comments on proto samples, fit samples, SMS, PPS and shippers accurately post fits. 
• Responsible for communication and liaising with offshore suppliers to develop and produce required SKUs and trims.
• Responsible and accountable for pro-actively tracking and organising all developments.
• Assist Creative Director with special projects such as design pitches, presentations, and photo shoots. 
• Providing guidance and feedback to garment techs, contractors, and other members of the design team. 

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design or a related field
• 8+ years of experience in fashion design, with a focus on luxury or high-end fashion and strong knitwear experience flatbed, circular and cut & sew. 
• Strong portfolio of original designs that demonstrate creativity, technical skill, and an understanding of current fashion trends and consumer preferences. 
• Experience and passion for sustainably focused textile innovation and pushing boundaries in the industry through concept and construction. 
• Expertise in creating detailed technical drawings and specifications for each design.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment. 
• Knowledge of the production process, including sourcing fabrics and trims, pattern making, and garment construction. 
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Adobe Illustrator, In Design & Photoshop. 
• Experience managing and mentoring junior designers, garment technicians and contractors.
