EVERYTHING COMES FROM COUNTRY

"Connection to country for me means having an innate connection to the land I was born and raised on. It is also a strong connection of family and memories on this country which all shape my identity and make me the woman that I am. To talk of country means not just the land but also the waters, the people, the winds, animals, plants, stories, songs, and feelings. Everything that comes together to make up one place.”~ Mason Ping

We have collaborated with model and muse Mason Ping, celebrating her work as an emerging Indigenous Artist. The overall theme and design of each piece relates to connection, fluidity, the ebb and flow of life, country, and culture. We shot this campaign in the middle of winter a couple of hours out of Sydney in Upper Colo River, the traditional country of the Darug peoples. Each piece was intended to complement one from the other, a tying connection representing ours to country and belonging.

"I felt inspired to touch on my own memories from the shoot, waking up to a misty morning, dipping my toes into the icy river waters and making fire by the river to keep warm. The colours I was drawn to complement the tones and hues of the day, there is a feeling of calm and ease. It’s been such a positive experience for me working on this collaboration with Nagnata. The team allowed me the space to step into my creativity and for me to interpret these images in my own way."
