A COLLABORATION WITH WOMEN WEAVE ARTISANS
A tribute to the artisans and rich heritage that inspires our brand. Returning to Nagnata’s roots we joined hands with Women Weave, a charitable trust situated in the heart of Madhya Pradesh, India to create our naturally dyed hand-loomed sarongs.
Women Weave empowers artisans from rural communities through the age-old art of handloom weaving. Together, we set out to reimagine the brand’s early era of woven textiles, crafting versatile styling pieces for the modern-day nomad.
Our Madhya Handloom Sarongs are crafted from organic cotton, grown and spun locally. To breathe life into these textiles, we turned to the alchemy of natural dyes and traditional fermentation techniques. These dyes are sourced sustainably from leaves, twigs, and fruits of trees and shrubs, which are cultivated purposefully for dye production and share their ingredients with the world of Ayurvedic medicine.
Hand-loomed with love in India, these sarongs are a piece of wearable art that embodies the essence of Nagnata - weaving old world and new world ideas.
Through supporting handloom weaving, Nagnata is working alongside Women Weave to help make weaving a sustainable and dignified income-earning art for rural women in India.
Thank you for being a part of our story.
