NAGNATA artisanal Yoga Mat Bag made from upcycled antique textiles.
The bespoke collection of yoga mat bags feature intricate hand embroidery work sourced from the traditional dresses of Indian tribal communities. The textiles are an amalgamation of embroidery styles from India, Afghanistan and Pakistan including the work of Rabari, Jat, Suf, Khaarek, Paako, Mutava and Ahir tribes.
The embellished strap is repurposed from ceremonial pieces adorned with age-old coins, mirror work and hand beading. The backside of the bag is contrasted using recycled Indian kantha fabric with hand stitching, block print and vegetable dip-dye details.
All textiles are hand selected by the NAGNATA designers in India. There are many stories woven into each piece and no two bags are the same.
